A fast-growing vine, devil's ivy is a climber whose length depends on whether it’s outdoor or indoors, plants typically range from 6 to 8 feet in length if left un-pruned. The vine produces waxy, heart-shaped foliage variegated with bright yellow and green, and once again, the size of the leaves depends on where the plant is cultivated. Indoors, the leaves may reach about 4 inches in length, although leaves on outdoor plants can grow up to 30 inches long.
If you're growing it in containers, an all-purpose, peaty potting mix that drains well is adequate for proper growth.
Handy Growing Tips:
Devil’s ivy grows well in partial to full shade outdoors, but growth slows when it's planted in deep shade and the foliage loses its variegation, turning mostly green. If you're growing the plant indoors, situate it in an area that receives filtered sunlight or bright artificial light.
Feeding
No worries if you forget about fertilizing devil’s ivy because it isn’t a heavy feeder, and its growth probably won’t skip a beat. However, you can feed both indoor and outdoor plants with a general-purpose liquid houseplant fertilizer. An application or two through the growing season should be sufficient. Always follow label directions for application instructions and the specific amount to use.
Water Requirements- do not over water me
Devil’s ivy is highly drought-tolerant, so don’t fret if your note to yourself to water the plants slips your mind for several weeks. While the plant is actively growing, water houseplants deeply – until it runs from the bottom drainage holes – approximately once a week or when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. During winter, cut back on watering to about once every other week. Watering outdoor plants once a week is sufficient but reduce the frequency to once every two weeks in winter.
If you have heating units or air-conditioners, it is best to avoid placing plants underneath or next to them. This is because of the air blowing out from these units can be extremely hot or cold which can leave a healthy plant burnt, damaged and stressed.

This stunning plant features green and white leaves with a pinkish purple underside making a striking statement in well lit indoor areas or under planted in a warm, sheltered garden bed for a feel of the tropics
Light: As with most variegated plants, Calathea need plenty of diffused light however direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose their markings. They can tolerate some degree of shade, but the better the light conditions, the more you will be rewarded by fine foliage. Experiment in your home to find the perfect spot for your plant.
Water: Calathea must be kept in damp soil at all times, but definitely do not allow the plant to sit in water or in very wet soil. Think little and often as a watering policy.
Temperature: Prefers warm to high temperatures, ideally between 18-23°C but can cope with as low as 15°C. Avoid draughts and ensure the plant has reasonable ventilation.
Humidity: High humidity levels are a must. Stand on a wet pebble tray to improve humidity and mist frequently. Pop it in the shower from time to time to give an extra boost.
Feed: Apply a weak dose of a nitrogen rich foliage fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.

Care tips: Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. Do not use leaf shine as this will damage the foliage. Calathea Fusion White leaves are delicate, the occasional small patch of discolouration, particularly on lower leaves, is normal. These leaves can be pruned without adversely affecting the plant.
Calathea is moderately fast growing.

If you have heating units or air-conditioners, it is best to avoid placing plants underneath or next to them. This is because of the air blowing out from these units can be extremely hot or cold which can leave a healthy plant burnt, damaged and stressed. We recommend the Italyn made Munash Organics soil food & foliage spray or The Plant Runner Plant Food or neem oil to keep you plants happy and healthy!
