The ultimate in sustainability we absolutely love the Smoosh Cups as they are crafted from reclaimed cone 6 clay and smooshed to make these pieces that can never be replicated!
Sonja Brough has many branches to her ceramic art practice. ‘Smoosh’ has been a new development within her dedication to produce a unique product for us to enjoy.
‘I exploit the evolutionary qualities inherent with using clay as an art medium. I lose
myself then find myself oscillating between the delicate balance of form and
function. I use the mass production process of slip casting as the base to launch my
desire to create unique captivating surfaces. These surfaces are an individual
voice to each Smug/cup. No two pieces are the same nor should they be.’

Note: All smoosh cups vary slightly due to the handcrafted nature!

Tasmanian Greeting Cards - Postures of Attention - Eleanor Ann
In this body of work, landscapes flicker between imagination and reality as I respond to the wildness and winsomeness of nature. Zooming-in close to vast landscapes and exaggerating organic forms, colors, and textures, yields energetic and delightful nuances that shifts the world in and out of familiarity. Layers of paint create a physical representation of the passing and pausing of time. There is grit and body to the colors and brushstrokes that allow the paint to take on movement and vitality. Dancing between abstraction and representation I learn to see, appreciate, and live in the messiness of life; curiosity of this tension between impression and illustration gives way to playful gestures and free exploration of the corners of creation around me. These devotional moments of deep external observation and deep inward imagination, have taught me to view the mundane as extraordinary. Suddenly the shape of a fallen leaf or the line of a twisted branch become symbols and reminders of my delight in the divine. Postures of attention and wonder become contemplative habits that point my gaze outward and upward.

Emma has delivered the goods once again! These elegant drinking vessels will always be in style. A classic finish in a variety of glaze colours.
Emma has made a feature of the pulling rings in these cups making them super tactile and a cup you just want to clutch.
The vessels are approximately 70mm tall and 80mm in diameter, but due to their handmade nature they will vary slightly in size as well as colouring. For a more specific measurement for online purchases please contact us if you are concerned.
Working from a warehouse studio based in Moonah, Tasmania, Emma creates a variety of clay forms, functional and decorative, alongside paintings depicting a range of subjects: floral, animals in particular birds and landscapes.
“For me its about appreciating the uniqueness of difference in things as opposed to the sameness.
I see my clay work as like a family, they inherently have similar qualities and you can tell they are made by the same hands but I strive to make each pot with its own unique qualities. The trick is using your skill set to make forms that still all belong together but just not too matchy, matchy!
What I love about clay is how it makes a person feel…bringing of people together to share a meal served on handmade ceramic pieces, eating and drinking from handmade vessels gives a sense of grounded connection with something greater than ourselves. Holding a cup that has begun as a lump of clay from the earth and then been formed by one set of hands and passed over to another feels like such an honour. “

These vibrant printed trinket boxes from local artist Michelle Evans are perfect for keeping your small and precious items safe. Featuring one of Michelle's beautiful artworks on top, sealed with resin and with a glass base, they are the perfect Tasmanian keep sake.
Size:
100mm wide x 90mm high
About Michelle;
Michelle's art practice explores the joy of colour and mark making. Her works are inspired by her love of the Tasmanian/lutruwita landscape, the colours and depth of layers in the rugged mountains, spectacular coastlines, native forests, sweeping bays, picturesque beaches and sparkling lakes.
Michelle's paintings are often a memory of a landscape or the feeling of a place and her response to it. Works are intuitive, colourful and explore mixed mediums and techniques. She captures the small miracles, celebrating the 'ordinary', by layering and weaving the elements together to reflect the beauty that can be found in a small snapshot of the natural world.
Travels through Tasmania's wild landscapes are a constant inspiration. While some people see 'just green' Michelle notices the smaller details in the types of shrubs, the shape of a leaf, the curve of a grass and how, while sometimes unspectacular on its own, an unassuming shrub becomes beautiful as one scintilla of a whole landscape.
Michelle uses a variety of mediums, usually beginning with acrylic then layering and mark making with ink, pastel and watercolour pencil. "I can't tone down the colour even when I try, it's just me!"

The Bay’s iconic name comes from Captain Tobias Furneaux as he sailed past in 1773, spotting Aboriginal fires lighting up the coast line. Evidence of these first Tasmanian inhabitants in the form of shell and bone piles (middens) are dotted in and among the grass. The name could also apply to the brilliant orange lichen that grows on the granite boulders lining the bay.
We say frame them with and hang them on Pressi Frame the wall for a beautiful, unique, tactile print.

Useful in vases as well as more adventurous arrangements. A heavy metal flower holder with pins is called a Pinwheel, Kenzan, Stay Put or Spiky Pin Frog. A kenzan is used in Japanese flower arranging techniques called Ikebana. Another expression in Ikebana is the Seika or Shoka style.
What Is a Flower Frog?
A flower frog is a type of floral mechanic, or an apparatus or technique used to construct floral arrangements and keep flowers in place. Flower frogs sit inside the floral container in the water and are traditionally known for their use in ikebana, the Japanese art of floral design. However, floral frogs have been adopted by flower lovers all over the world and are used in a variety of floral design styles.
In fact, these curious little floral mechanics are so well loved, that they are often sought after by collectors who search for vintage flower frogs in antique shops. Do your remember seeing your grandmother using them?
What Is a Flower Frog Used For?
Flower frogs keep the stems of flowers secure as you strategically place and arrange the flowers or greenery in a vessel. They act as an anchor for a floral arrangement, allowing you to establish a foundation for your design and build upon that shape.
Flower frogs come in a variety of styles, but the most recognizable is often referred to as a kenzan or a pin frog, a metal circle base with metal pins that stick straight up from the base.
